Chelsea have announced the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on a permanent transfer from Barcelona. The former Arsenal forward signs a two-year deal with Thomas Tuchel’s team, keeping him at Stamford Bridge through the year 2024.
Aubameyang becomes the 12th player to play for both Arsenal and Chelsea during the Premier League era and the sixth player to join Chelsea after having previously played for Arsenal thanks to the agreement that sees Chelsea pay Barcelona £12 million plus Spanish full-back Marcos Alonso.

Aubameyang expressed his happiness upon joining Chelsea, saying: “I’m incredibly thrilled. I’m excited to get started and consider it an honor to join this team. It’s fantastic to be back and to have some unfinished business with the Premier League.

Chelsea’s chairman Todd Boehly said, “Pierre-Emerick is an exceptional striker with a proven track record in the Premier League and his arrival enhances our squad, offering us more offensive alternatives.
He continued by saying, “We are happy to have Pierre-Emerick on board with us in the new age at Chelsea and we’re truly looking forward to working with him.”
A competent goal scorer for Tuchel
Aubameyang contributed to Barcelona’s ascent from sixth in La Liga when he signed in February to runners-up last season with 13 goals in 23 matches.
He scored 68 goals in 128 Premier League games while at Arsenal, and he and Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah of Liverpool shared the Golden Boot honor for the 2018–19 campaign.
Thomas Tuchel, who was his coach at Borussia Dortmund before he departed for Arsenal in 2017, will now be his colleague once more at Chelsea as a result of his move there.
