The Uyo Zonal Commander of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE Bawa Hamidu Saidu has charged Point of Sale, POS operators in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on due diligence on customers.
Bawa made the charge on Wednesday, when Executives of the Association of Point Of Sale, POS, Operators led by their President, Ndifreke Bassey, paid him a visit in his office in Uyo.

The Zonal commander in a statement, charged POS operators in the state capital to put modalities in place to ensure that a proper ‘Know Your Customer’, KYC, is carried out on customers who approach them for transactions.
This he said would help curb the spate of criminality and other financial crimes carried out through such terminals in the state.
