After winning his party’s nomination in the presidential primary elections held at Eagles Square in Abuja on Sunday, June 19, 2022, Tinubu traveled to the palace of the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, on the same day.

However, some armed thugs ambushed his convoy as he was leaving, breaking the windows of the press corps bus with stones and machetes while also injuring some journalists.
