Armed robbers broke into a Chicken Republic location in Lekki Phase 1 in Lagos State on Admiralty Way. The attack happened on Sunday, February 12, and it ended with the shooting of a restaurant security guard.
When the burglars attacked the restaurant, it caused fear among the diners, employees, and nearby neighbours.
According to reports, the bandits hauled away goods without harming bystanders.
Twitter user @OriesiVapor wrote in a post that he heard a gunshot coming from the crime scene as he was returning from church.

The management of Chicken Republic confirmed the incident in a social media post.
It reads: Earlier today, a member of our team was shot at our Admiralty Lekki 1 Branch, in an attempted robbery. He is currently receiving medical attention and we ask that you join us to pray for his recovery.
We are deeply saddened by this despicable act of violence and are already working with the police to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book. Our efforts remain consistent in ensuring our outlets are secured nationwide.

There was a robbery attack on the restaurant, according to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police public relations officer, who also confirmed the incident. There was one shooting, and the patient is now receiving care.
